Not a world of adventure

Rudolph the red nosed Emma

Spent the weekend in Kent visiting people and trying to get Pupzilla acclimatised to other dogs.  Well one other dog, a rather boystrous 5 year old Golden who’s totally loopy.  Everyone is saying Lily is going to be bigger than the other dog, which should be interesting as Memo is BIG.

I’ve caught the sun, stupid idiot that I am forgot the sun block as it was peeing down when we left here on Saturday morning.  So I look like Rudolph, charming.

Not much else to report really.  Was a nice weekend.  Kinda nice to get away, but very nice to be back.  Pupzilla has just been for her walk and she’s now zonked out somewhere.  Not quite the beach (where she spent a good ten minutes trying to dig to China).

Right, best get on with some bits and pieces.

Amusing

It would appear Newham has a problem with people driving around in un-licensed and un-taxed cars… So I found it amusing seeing cars being towed away from a set of traffic lights in Stratford… I do hope they don’t crush the pale pearlescent blue skyline as it did look like a very nice car. It just serves the muppet right for not having taxed it… Some muppets never learn

Hero

As I mentioned yesterday I was off to see Hero last night. I’ve already seen the film, twice. Last night was the first time I had seen it on the big screen and on a copy intended for the European market.

The first time I saw this film, I knew it was the best film I’d ever seen. OK yes it’s chinese but I don’t really care, it was such a beautiful film. The plot was interesting and not implausible like the junk Hollywood pumps out.

If anyone tells you “it’s like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” only listen to them in as much as it’s Chinese, and it has sword fighting in it. The similarities stop there. The film doesn’t drag, it’s easy to understand, and it’ll leave you stunned. That is unless you are one of the muppets that sat and laughed at various bits that, well just weren’t funny and showed you just how much of a muppet you really are.

Yes it has wire work but the emphasis wasn’t put on doing implausible flying work, it was on the way the body moves, on the external factors like water, leaves and colour.

There is one bit near the end however that they didn’t translate correctly, I won’t tell you as you’ll probably go “you spoiled it for me” so anyone wanting to know, mail me and I’ll tell you.

If you only see one film for the rest of this year, make it Hero, you won’t be disappointed.

urgh

Jeesh, they would block this website when I am in desperate need of interest at work… typical really, oh well n’er mind. It’s so dead at work because well its just that time of year. I’m off to sunny Somerset tomorrow to see my best buds and my dad. I’m looking forward to a leisurely drive down there, loud music, great roads, relaxation is THE name of the game!

I even went as far as cleaning the car, polishing the windows, vacuming the carpets and well generally sprucing her up a bit. Got to find some music to listen to now. Wish me well :o)

Correct me if I’m wrong

I didn’t bother watching the race on Sunday, it was fuck face off the start line first, I knew the w*nker would finish first. Nice to see the McLarens did so well again (not)… So I’m sitting here laughing to myself regarding this article. Forgive me if I’m wrong, but what will aerodynamics and improved stability do if it’s the bloody engines that keep going bang? Surely the muppets at Mercedes Ilmore can do SOMETHING to get the blasted things working properly? How about the team just take the Mercedes McLaren around the track instead of the F1 car or does THAT have engine reliability issues as well.

Can’t someone suggest MS is a terrorist or something just to get him off the bleedin’ race track?

Toys wonderful toys..

It finally happened, in the deeper darker depths of John Lewis on a sunny Saturday afternoon, we once again found ourselves in the Computer department. We’d gone there with the sole purpose of looking at the iPaqs, but one look at the price meant Ross was going to buy it online instead of in the shop. So whilst looking at the MP3 players Ross went, “I could buy one”… to which I responded “you’ve been threatening to buy one for ages, one of these days you’ll surprise us both by buying one”… he mused a bit and went to look a the web cams. Whilst strolling back he went “sod it” and bought one! so we are now the proud owners of a 20gb iPod. I’ve had a small play with it and the sound is awsome on it.

I on the other hand only came away with a game of Monopoly (for those times of complete boredom when you just want something to do), a new toaster (the old one got wrecked by trying to toast crumpets when the toasting slots were too small), and a cocktail shaker. I was impressed with my purchases but they don’t have as much kudos as the iPod… ah toys, glorious toys!

Efffffing One

I think I’ve calmed down enough now to properly comment on the fiasco that was F1 at the weekend. Seething is the word I’d use, I managed to find out before the race who one (because it was being re-shown). I was disapointed badly, angry and I didn’t really watch the race. It was a precession by the red muppets. It wasn’t enjoyable at all. I sincerly hope that the racing gets better or I really won’t be watching it again this season. I don’t really want to see Michael Schumaker win again this year, it’s just not interesting.

I want to watch people fighting for possition, I want to see racing, I want to see people doing silly but impressive manoveurs, I want to see some action for goodness sakes. After all it’s supposed to be racing! It’s a shame Mikka Hakkinen has retired as he always seemed to ensure a good fight was had against Michael Schumaker. Montoya being my favourite racer is my hopeful for this year, he’s just got to push a bit harder to nudge MS off the top spot.
